NEIGHBORHOOD STABILIZATION PROPERTIESIn partnership with residents throughout Goshen, LaCasa seeks to create neighborhoods that are safe, attractive, and economically stable. In late 2009 Goshen Indiana was chosen to receive the NSP1 grant from the federal government. Administrated on the state level by Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority and facilitated on the local level by a partnership between the city of Goshen and LaCasa, Inc. The program improves neighborhoods blighted by foreclosure properties and vacant, abandoned and uninhabitable homes. LaCasa helps residents to purchase these remodeled homes and then connects them with active neighborhood associations to join in building strong communities. Barb Swartley is the primary real estate agent for LaCasa for the NSP1 grant. Homes have been acquired in north and east Goshen. Rehab and resale of these homes has already begun. These homes will be sold to homeowner occupants only and to buyers who earn 120% or less of "Area Median Income." Find out if you qualify. Check back to watch the progress of these homes by clicking on the pictures below.
